STOP PRESS – Transition Newspaper

Thanks to everyone who has already sent in articles. The deadline is February 8th,  So get typing! If you would like to be involved in any way then please email Wendy Haslam wendy.haslam@talktalk.net

‘TRANSITION TIMES’ [Lancaster and District].  It is envisaged as a platform for community building and education as well as an opportunity for very reasonably priced advertising for local businesses.

Lottery Award to TCL

Thanks to the sterling work of Alison and Chris TCL has secured Awards for All Lottery funding. This is to aid us in printing and distribution of the Newspaper and also to support  group activities.

Garden Share

TCL’s new Garden Share project is ready to roll.  The idea is simply to link people with spare garden plots or land that they cannot work – with people keen to start growing.  Garden Share works well elsewhere and grows some healthy community connections as well as healthy veg.

So – if you have a piece of spare land or garden you’d be happy to share – or – if your looking for a space to start growing – then drop a line to samagita@talktalk.net  or steve@guiver.plus.com

Please tell your friends, family and workmates about Garden Share!

Energy Know-How Wanted

In the Energy, Building and Design for Life Group we’re looking at how we can improve the sources of information available to Lancaster residents to help them understand the opportunities for installing and using alternative energy systems and energy saving devices at home (for example: solar thermal; micro-wind turbines; photovoltaic solar power; alternative boiler technologies; energy usage meters). The principal aim of this activity is to pool the information and identify those individuals with local expertise.

If you have an alternative energy system at home or expertise in this area (or know somebody who does) then we would really like to hear about it. It’d be great if we could have either a phone call or email about your experiences or even visit you for chat about it.  Whatever would work for you.

If you can send Steve Allen an email in the first instance - stephen.allen@rocketmail.com – that would be great.
